still waiting...

Friends, we didn't receive any news as expected today. In general, they say Isaiah is responding well. But we haven't heard the results of the bone marrow test from Friday. Thanks for continuing to pray for Isaiah. His stomach is very upset from the chemo... More soon. (It was great to see many of you at Emmaus on Sunday. We feel so supported by our community).

Isaiah,
We sang Psalm 3:3 in church Sunday and I thought of you and your mom, dad, and sister. Have your daddy sing it to you.

'Thou O Lord, are a shield about me. You're my Glory. You're the lifter of my head.'

'Thou O Lord, are a shield about me. You're my Glory. You're the lifter of my head.'

'Hallelujah'
'Hallelujah'
'Hallelujah'
'You're the lifer of my head.

We love you. I am often up at sunrise with Josiah and I watch the light hit the rolling hills of vineyards. It's beautiful and I lift my head and my eyes to the One where our help comes from.

Hang in there, Isaiah. I'm sure the waiting is REALLY hard, especially when you've got a bad tummy ache. We're still praying for GREAT test results to arrive... and hopefully soon!

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped...
Psalm 28:7

Our prayer tonight is for more strength for you, your mom and dad, and Sienna during this time of waiting for tests and not feeling too good because of the medicines. :)

Love,

Jason, Tami, Lucas, Colby and Caleb

Nate, Carm, Isaiah and Sienna,
I have been praying this compline for Isaiah and I wanted to share it with you. We love you and continue to lift sweet Isaiah up in prayer.

O God, and Spirit, and Jesu,
the Three,
from the crown of my head,
O Trinity,
to the soles of my feet mine offering be.
Come I unto Thee, O Jesu, my King--
O Jesu, do Thou be my sheltering.

*Whoever has chosen to make the shleter of the Most High their dwelling place will stay in His over-shadowing.

*He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
He is my God and I am trusting Him.

*He will rescue you from the traps laid for your feet, and save you from the destroying curse.

*His faithful promises are your armour. You need no longer be afraid of any terror by night, or the death-arrow that flies by day.

*The Lord Himself is your refuge;
you have made the Most High your stronghold.

*Be my strong rock,
a castle to keep me safe,
for You are my crag and my stronghold.

*How precious to me
are Your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I wake
I am still with You.

Dear Oats family,
I was told about your website from a member of your church who knows that I have a close friend whose little girl was diagnosed 2 years ago with ALL also. She also has a website www.courage4kennedy.com she is slated to complete her chemo treatments this coming August and we are all so excited for her. Isaiah looks like a very brave and strong little boy! I will keep him in my prayers.

Hey Nate and Carmen,

This is actually Tough Guy Kyler's mom! We think about you all constantly and are praying for amazing progress in this battle!

As you know, we have so been there with the "sick in the tummy" feeling. A few things helped Kyler: one was chewing on Ginger chews and the other was a homeopathic remedy called Nux Vomica. Both of these you can get at the Health Food Co-op store near the hospital on Alhambra and S street. Another thing we did was try to get in as many calories as we could in a small condensed amount. For example, we'd have him eat a tablespoon of organic peanut butter a couple times a day. Also, we learned to wait until Kyler was hungry rather than pushing it too much. Just a few ideas incase he's not eating much.
We love you guys!

Nathan & Carmen,
It was good to see you both today. I was happy to see you both doing do much better than the first time we saw you. Gina and I feel blessed that we were a small part of your recovery from the initial shock and trama. God Loves you both so much that He took the time to orchestrate our meeting in hopes that it would help you both. Hold on to the highs, they will help you get through the lows. Always take time to journal the miracles, how ever small. They will help you do spiritual warfare, and keep your spirits up. You would be jaw dropped at all the miracles our Lord has done for us and Matt. I know the same will be for Isaiah.
Isaiah
I know that you will do very well because the answer is found in the book you were named after.
Isaiah 54:17- No weapon formed against you shall prosper.
If you would like to visit matthew's carepage it is at carepages.com ourboymatt.
We wrote about your family on our last update. we have had numerous responses and there are many people, all over the country praying for you.
In Christ,
Darrell, Gina & Matt

Hello Oates Family!
We continue to pray very specifically for Isaiah and for each of you as well as the physicians and other care givers. Naturally, all of us continue to be in shock over this but pray for God's continued peace.
You are each one an amazing Christ like example of a pillar of faith and dependence on Him for all things. As I am sure you know there are many extended groups whom you will never know who are praying for you, but so many of these groups are overwhelmingly inspired by who and what the Oates family is - a real model of a Christian family through triumph and crisis.
Thank you again for keeping us posted so well and for your living example. May God bless each of you and provide the comfort and peace that you seek. Isaiah - we are amazed and inspired by you. Keep up your faith in God, your parents and family and your caregivers and win this battle!

With much love,
Robert & Janice Hale

Dear Isaiah,
We are praying for you. We know you will be a brave knight and slay your dragon. Remember sometimes knights get tired and don't feel good and they can hardly hold up their sword, but God will give you the strength when you need it, just like he gave Moses strenth to hold up his staff.(Exodus 17:12) Moses didn't do it all by himself, God sent his friend to hold up his arms. God has given you such a great mommy and daddy and sister, and lots of other great family and friends. I am sure they will help you hold up your arms and fight too! We can't wait to see you. We are so happy for the pictures on your blog, we put one on our fridge and we pray for you everytime we pass by.

Dear Carmen,
I just can't believe all that has happened. My heart has ached for you. I keep thinking of the coversations we had at bible study on God's sovereignty. All I can think to say is Be still and know that I am God. Loving you, missing you and praying for you, Martha

Isaiah,

You don't know me, but I've been praying for you. You are a very strong and courageous little boy! I know that are you having a tough time, but God promises to NEVER leave you. I hope you know how much you are loved by so many.

Lord Jesus,
I pray for this strong little boy and for his loving family. Hold him close in your arms so that he will not feel the pain or discomfort that he current feels. Bless the medications to his body and heal him from this illness. Continue to encourage his family to stay strong and hold steady for his sake.
I ask this in your name Jesus, Amen.

May God keep you all close to Him.
