bowl of soul

Isaiah and I did today's check-up at Club Sutter. The clinic was super-busy with lots of sick kids - which is always so sad. Isaiah "looked great" and all his numbers are strong.

Afterwards, we went to Tupelo's where the little guy got a Jones Cream Soda and dad thoroughly enjoyed a Bowl of Soul (which must be experienced in order to truly appreciate). During our first stay in the hospital, I would take my few minute break most days to walk to this little shop. I fell in love with this amazing chamomile tea/steamed milk/honey and cinnamon creation. Not only is it a perfectly delicious "comfort food," but the drinking experience itself feels almost prayerful - partly because it requires both hands; partly because I was praying so desperately in those early days. Both as a tea-drinker and as a pastor, I recommend it whole-heartedly.

It's so great to hear that things continue to look better for Isaiah! My thoughts are often with your family!

Yeah for Isaiah bear...I am happy to hear that you are holding strong. All your hard work and patience is paying off! All the chugging and listening to momma to eat healthy, and all the check up's you have to do. I am very proud of you buster! We are thinking of you....Love you and miss you.
Nate boy, I wish I had a bowl of soul! Sounds yummy....

Isaiah, thanks for coming to see us! Uncle Mike enjoyed plaing playstation basketball with you. It was a good option while all the girly stuff was going on for B's party. We always enjoy having family come over since we're "out of the way"...so thanks. Wish I had a bowl of soul today. That sounds sooo good right now. Love to all you Oates! Love all 5 Peeps
