beautiful day

Our baby boy was born at 11:28 a.m. today!

Carmen's contractions began at about 3:30 a.m. She labored hard and then pushed for about 35 minutes. She was an absolute warrior: focused and strong. I am so proud of her.

Both mom and baby are doing well. We are so grateful for his health. He's slept most of the afternoon and is nursing well.

We're sleeping on his name and will joyfully announce it in the morning.

Thank you for praying for us and cheering us on. It was an absolutely beautiful day.

I don't know anyone who has given birth at home other than from my Mom's generation. I can only imagine the specialness of it all. A lasting beautiful experience for all of you. We are so incredibly excited for you and thank you for letting us be part of your special day. Can't wait to see him in person. Jeff and I are trying to guess his name.
